Default First Track Day - Barber - Video

I went to my first track day today as a novice of course. Tuning issues raised its head and car did not like the richness holding steady rpms in the 6 to 7k range. After the first session I just left it in 4th gear for the whole track other than the hair pin and only dropped to 3rd upon entry. I just focused on lines and building my confidence on corner speed. Video shows a few laps on 3rd session.

Beautiful day in Alabama. Very good instructor. Track Masters ran the event and did a nice job. All the suspension changes seem to be working out very well.

This is my first video edit and first youtube post. If vid is slow or you have any issues let me know. I used a free download and hacked my way through it.

What exactly was your issue if you don't mind sharing? It is a beautiful track.

Lines looked good and it appeared that you were gaining on the two cars on front of you throughout the laps. Was that a Ferrari that went screaming by at the end?

I knew I was running rich and it caused some problems. While keeping the rpms sustained in the upper levels there was some sputtering. The wideband's low reading kept dropping throughout the day too. It got to the point of reading 10 at WOT which is as low as the AEM will read. The current tune is much better, but still not good. I'll pull the plugs tomorrow, bet they'll need a good cleaning or replacement.

Thanks, my instructor was good and familiar with the track. I tried to learn as much as I could. Yes, I was catching the cars in front on the slower parts of the track, but they got away on the straights keeping it in 4th. It was much easier on the car.

I slowed and pointed the Ferrari by, nice view for a few seconds. I swear the guy driving it didn't look old enough to drink.
