Flywheel?
Well I'm going with a cc stage 5 clutch and debating if I should do a lighter flywheel also. I belive they make a 9lbs and 11lbs flywheel. Any boost guys running lighter flywheels? I was told if i get too light of a flywheel the motor will rev up faster than the turbo can spool up. I'll be running a 6262. Thanks
Being you have an Ap1.. and yeah on a turbo I could see there wouldn't be as much benefit. If you were supercharged I'd recommend a lighter flywheel. There is a noticeable performance improvement. But on this car once you get bellow the ridiculously heavy 22lb ap2 flywheel, its more of a personal preference. I ran the Findanza 8lb for 5 years in this car and miss it.
A lighter flywheel will benefit you once your clutch is engaged it's no different than a lower weight crankshaft or any other rotating engine part. You have less inertia to overcome. The disadvantage is engaging the clutch, with less inertia you are more likely to stall or have a rough engagement (assuming a slow take of IE daily driving). It's really a personal preference.

I had the lighter CC flywheel with my stage 5 CC clutch. I loved it. No noticeable change in spool characteristics, but for a DD, this clutch is hard to get used to. It will make you look like a noob at any given moment. LOL. Just be ready for it.
