Default Fuel pump removal tip.

Just a tip to guys do the fuel pump swap. The back panel that is over top the fuel pump is a pain to take out...however when I was working on on mine it fell through and I took it out through the bottom by fluke. I reinstalled it through the bottom as well. Just a tip for anyone planning to do this.

Also, if your doing the pump make sure you do the wiring upgrade. Highly recommended. I used the SOS kit and it is a nice complete kit.

By wiring upgrade, do you mean re-wiring it directly to the battery?

This is how I've always taken the soft top tray out; through the trunk. I can't imagine trying to weasel that thing out over the roll hoops with how large it is!

Agreed. I don't think there is any other way to do it.

I didn't even remove the tray when i did mine. You just pry it slightly when you are ready to remove the pump. I used a stubby screwdriver to take off the 3 screws.

The Haynes manual suggest taking out the seat, and interior pieces in behind the seat...

It comes out over the roll hoops pretty easily if you open the top slightly. Removing the pump itself is definitely easier from the trunk though.
