Default going FI

alright guys and gals, i made my mind up. i am going to go turbo rather than stay NA. the only thing is, im not sure what all i will need. should i get a full turbo kit, or buy the pieces individually. if that is the case, what brands are the best? im going to try to keep the budget down to $4.5K so i still got money for a GOOD tune and pro install. another thing, if i do get a whole kit, what are some things i should make sure are there? i have seen some kits that have more in them than others, so im not sure what all i actually need. thanks in advance everyone

yeah, that...

But in all seriousness, you've come to the right place, you're just asking a question that's been covered many times over. Take a look around, and see what others have done. Then if you've got more questions, there are quite a few very knowledgeable people here that will gladly answer questions.

Well, with that budget your in the used Greddy Kit price range. If your price range is on the low side you need to get a basic super charger, like SOS or Vortech. The big differnce between the two is you need to change so many more things to do a turbo then just getting a kit and going. If you have any other questions I will try and help.

You'll have to up your budget another few thousand to hit those numbers reliably. EMS, injectors, etc. You could make 300 wheel with $4500. If you installed things yourself.

"clue"

just kidding, that's a little mean. turbo setups are great in that you just get a manifold and piece up from there outsourcing the turbo, intercooler/pipes, fuel system, and engine management. i love the simplicity of a supercharger install, however you are forced to use a companies mounting brackets and pulley system because devising your own is a major pita. there have been used turbo kits for sale in the $2k range. check out the FI for sale.
