Default Good idea to go turbo while ap1 burning oil?

Just curious since 90% of ap1 burn oil. Is it ok to turbo since the burning oil is going through the turbo manifold and turbo? Would it wear the turbo seals faster? I only see bad news when boosting a ap1 that burns oil. Most common is 1 quart every 1000 miles. What u guys think?

Do a compression and leak down test. The results will let you know how healthy the motor is. I wouldn't be too concerned about the oil burn issue. Have replaced your PCV valve or installed a catch can to see how much oil you are losing through engine ventilation?

Catch can, Oem pcv, oem ap2 retainers, valve stems, seals. Compression is 235 psi all 4. Changed oil weights and brands. Leak down is very good. I'm one of those unlucky ones who did everything they could and still burns. I'm use to it now. I know I'm not the only one out there. So im guessing it's a bad idea to go turbo whike eating oil?

Ok, let's get back to the turbo thing. Not worried about my burning oil issue right now.

But if you guys want to know I already went through castrol gtx 10w30, edge 10w30, amsoil 10w30, pennzoil platinum 10w30, edge w/ titanium 5w30, and Royal purple 10w30. Currently stickin with pennzoil platinum 10w30 for now.

I have a built B series (9k rev limit), a built K series (9k rev limit) and i just sold my ap1 (MY2002).

None of my engines like mobile 1 and burn it for some reason. I use the honda synthetic blend, and my oil consumption is non existent.

Have you upgraded the oil jet bolts to the AP2 version? that is another cheap insurance item you can do to increase the longevity of your F20C.

Not meaning to insult anything here but have you checked very well over the under carriage to make sure it's not leaking from a seal? Take your throttle body off and make sure it's clean in there to.

How many miles?
With the refresh u did I wouldn't worry about it. Bump the weight to a good 40 like motul you'll need it anyways with the heat from turbo (my opinion only!) And the 40 should also keep out of the clearances some more.

I mean u won't kno till u try, if it knocks it knocks. Keep it premium and a good tune. I wouldn't worry to much about some qt per 1k miles. Honda says it's perfectly fine as a NA with atleast 50% more timing. Don't quote me on that just trying to make a point.

This car game has no boundaries, only your decisions will restrict u from your goals.

back to your original concerns, it wont hurt the turbo seals or manifold. My concern would be running low on oil and that causing oil pressure and volume to hurt the turbo. The problem will be exacerbated with the added pressure causing some blowby but your compression seems healthy so i doubt that should stop you. What valve seals did you replace yours with, OEM?

Thanks for answering my question. Yes it's all oem seals etc. The head is 100% oem as well as the block. My car is the later 2002 model so I think I'm good with the oil squirters.
