Just so I know what type of stuff will I need to do?
For the time being, why not just enjoy what you have?
I STRONGLY recommend a Modifry Shift Beeper. It's nice to hit every shift perfectly without ever taking your eyes off the road.
I'd recommend a shift light also, but only if you're raising the rev limiter past the instrumentation. If you don't know your rpm's by ear(assuming your not on a track w/ helmet on), you should learn your car a bit more.

The fewer things we have to focus on the better off we are.

It's cool to disagree. Thank you for doing so in a civil manner.
See you in about a month.
And for the record, I need to pick one up as my redline will be 9600 rpm(it was 9400).

Once you have a beeper on the car you'll see that it frees focus for other things. I've used shift lights before, but (for me at least) the beeper is much more effective. I also like the valet mode and high RPM memory of the Modifry shift beeper. I have a 130dB alarm siren connected for valet mode, and the memory is like having a tattletale tach. If nothing else, the beeper and memory verify that you're hitting every shift right on the money.
One problem though; Modifry's unit only works up to 9,300 RPM. I know he can do some customization, but don't know whether or not that includes extending the rev range. Anyway, if you can make it work, I highly recommend Modifry's little gizmo.

It's all about budgeting and minimizing pilot overload.

I've always used shift lights in the past, but now that I've tried a beeper, I'll never go back. It works the same way as a sequential light. My warning beeps are at 8,000 8,300, and 8,600, with the solid beep starting at 8,900. By shifting at the start of the last beep my RPM memory shows that I'm actually hitting 9,000 RPM between shifts.
I've never had a shift light blind me, but they do distract me more than the beeper.
