Default Greddy kit turbo upgrade?

I'm planning to upgrade the turbo for the greddy kit in the summer, therefore I am sourcing out the parts I need beforehand. I'm probably going to go with a 3mm headgasket, boost controller, guages, tune, and of course a bigger turbo. Does anyone know which turbo Greddy makes which is somewhat comparable to the gt30 but bigger than the turbo that came with the greddy kit.

Do you already have a greddy kit? If not, then why not go with a different kit to get you to your power goals? Greddy doesn't really give out their specs on turbos. But I would imagine the TD06SH-20G will be somewhat closer and is internally wastegated. http://www.greddy.com/products/display/?Ca...&SubCategory=20

^^^ i was just gonna say the 20g is a pretty good size turbo and would definately give you some more. its not no Power house turbo, but i know a 20G on a DSM makes it move pretty good

The question i've been trying to answer along these same lines is if the emanage ultimate can be tuned for higher boost levels that the kit turbo is able to make. I think 10-12 psi is not unreasonable from this turbo at 9k rpm. I would think that it could make 300+ whp?

well from what i've been reading.. people have been running 400+ HP with the greddy emanage. 10 PSI to reach 300WHP is where i think its at meaning, 10PSI will get you the 300WHP with no other mods. although in my mind, i wouldnt run that high unless i got a 3 mm HG. or even a 2MM one. bigger injectors and tune.

I'm coming from DSM's where i was blessed to already have turbo engines and didnt have to worry so much about that.

i'm sure with a 20G on 10 PSI is alot more HP considering you probably only have to run at 7 PSI to accomplish the same amount of HP that an 18g Turbo at 10PSI would.

I'm coming from volkswagen and audis and can relate to your DSM experience .

I guess the question is how is the driveability with the emanage and the higher boost/bigger injectors. It would seem intuitive that with a piggyback the further you deviate from stock (both in manifold pressures and injector size) ... the more difficult it is to tune correctly for part throttle and idle.

Well, it would all depend on the tuner.. The Emanage Ultimate is the closest you can get, in piggy back form, to a standalone setup. The Ultimate lets you control timing as well as a target AFR. So if tuned properly, I am sure the driveability is still there. Have a look at the JDM Tuning section, they have a lot of info on the Ultimate there.

Okay so from what i gather from from the replies the greddy TD06SH-20G should be good enough? My aim is at least 350whp w/3mm headgasket, tuned, is that enough or is there more room to go?
