Default Greddy Kit Vibration Issue

Hey Guys,

I just finished istalling my new greddy turbo kit and everyhting seems to be running good except for one thing. The oil filter on the relocation kit is touching the intercooler pipe which runs from the turbo to the intercooler. When the car is running they vibrate and it can be heard pretty loudly in the cabin. Has anyone run into this during their install?? There doesn't seem to be any play in the piping to be able to move it away from the filter. Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.

Let's see some pics of the set up. That definately shouldn't happen. Are you running the Greddy oil filter or the Honda OEM one? They are about the same size and I have run both with no vibration issues.

Mine did the same, I would recomend that you get a Push Lock style fittings and hoses (-10AN) and get rid of the steel lines that the system comes with. It will start with this issue and end with a hose blowing off and you looosing all of your oil.

Good luck

Thanks for the quick replies. I am using the greddy oil filter which came with the kit. I can post a pic but wouldn't be able to do it until tonight because I'm at work.

dsddcd,

I will look into changing those lines...In the mean time do you have any recommendations on how you separated the two to eliminate the vibration?

You can temporarlity wrap the line with a heater hose by splitting it and zip tieing it on. Be very carefull to check those lines for leaks constantly.

I wonder if this is a AP1 specific problem for some reason. I have plenty of clearence on mine. I don't really see how changing the lines would help the problem. They seem to be pretty nice lines that haven't leaked a drop for me.
Good luck tho bud!

The problem is that the lines are very short thus there is very little room for them to flex to meet the exact angles. Replacing the lines with a more flexible set clears up all of the issues. In fact I had found that Greddy has made many changes to the system in the past b/c of issues but has still failed to get that portion 100%.

I have written many posts on this issue in the past.

I have a Greddy kit on my AP1 and have no clearance issues. Maybe something wasn't installed correctly?

Also, I have had no problems with the Greddy oil filter relocation kit either. When I installed it, I just left all the hose ends and bracket bolts threaded in a bit but still loose. After all were started, I tightened the hoses then the bracket. I have only driven it 300 miles or so, but haven't had a problem so far.

I really like Aeroquip fittings, however there are others that make the same product. Scroll down to the bottom of the catolauge for the push lock selection.

Jeg's makes an economy version that is nice also

You can add the a band clamp for extra security if you are worried about the bond. However as long as you use the proper hose and follow the assemble direction you should be fine.

Here is a picture of some that were included with my IP oil drain line.
