Default Gripes with Comptech S/C Install.....

God I was at the shop today for 8 hours and I'm still not done. 4 hours working by myself and another 4 with a friend. First thing that went kind of bad was the vacuum diagram was misleading, made me think that the 26 inch hose suppose to go from the air control solenoid to the air control valve. I was like man I'm 2 inches away from it, finally figured it out after a while I was going into the whole line. Also the oil fitting on the vtec block was faced BACKWARDS so I had to twist it around which was pretty tough considering the small space I had to work with.....and finally theres the oil fitting to the supercharger that I still haven't finished...man why did they angled the fitting for, making it impossible for me to try to screw it on. I'll continue this little journey tomorrow and hopefully I'll be done as well......hopefully no other problem will arise as I already got done with the fuel pump and crank pulley. Anyone else with any other problem when installing this kit?

Common sense and test fitting go a long way on stuff like this. As for the oil feed and oil return as well, did you install these lines on the blower BEFORE you put it into the bracket and onto the engine? This would have made it simple. I haven't looked at the Comptech installation guide in detail, but doesn't it go into this sort of thing step by step?

Yea you're right I should of put it on the blower before I got the bracket onto the engine. But I was just going by the manual and it never said anything about getting the fitting on there before blower install....so I guess its one of those things that you have to learn the hard way. Guess I'll know better next time....which I hope there won't be

If you're referring to the oil drain on the bottom of the blower, step #8 of the instructions specifically states:

- Connect 45 degree end of

I did my install 2 weeks ago and took me around 25hrs to install + A/C
I had the pulley, fuel pump and ESM (emanage) ready beforehand.

Before I started off, i gathered as much info i could and also asked some questions on this board. One of them was about the vacuum hoses.

My worse difficulties was to fabricate a new bracket and reallocate the FPR since mine is a RHD.

See page 7 for fuel pump and page 9 for crank pulley! Should help a fair bit.

The crank pulley sucks, hope you got the right tool.

The Fuel pump sucks, because you have become pretzel man to get back there to put it in.

Haste makes waste and as you've discovered, headaches. Like some of the others here, I studied the install manual and made notes long before I took a wrench to the kit or the car. I also made my own diagrams for things like wiring and had all the connections clearly labelled.
ps. Another word of advice ..................... When doing those ESM wiring connections, take the time to go under the dash and solder them all real good. Those crimp connections may only last a few months before you post up here asking how come your car has a hiccup right around where the blower begins to contribute power to the motor.
