Default GT35r Inlline Pro making only 320whp

So my car is finally tuned and but its only making 320whp.

Evans tuning:
"It starts, idles, drives like stock. It does not make the appropriate power however. At 14 psi the car made 320whp, which is extremely low. All other s2000s that I have tuned with the 35r inline kits (about 30 of them to date) all have made around 440-460whp power level at 14-15 psi. I actually dropped the exhaust on the car to see how bad of a restriction it was. The 320whp was with the exhaust dropped, it made approximately 280whp with it installed at the same boost. The spool/power is on point till around 6,000 rpm and after that the power/torque drops off badly.

I did a compression test on the engine, it was 175 across all cylinders. The engine pulls good vacuum, so I knew even before doing the test that it was fine. I pull the coil packs out, valve cover and sensors to see if the timing chain was possibly installed incorrectly (off a tooth or more). It was 3-4 degrees off, which is normal with the thicker headgasket. I checked all the couplers for leaks, and could not find any. I pulled off the air filter on the turbo to see if it was a restriction, which it was not (no power difference). I inspected the turbo while the filter was off and it appears fine (no shaft play, no oil in the compressor cover, etc). I replace the factory spark plugs that were in the engine, as they were fouled badly and very worn. The power got a bit smoother, but did not make a difference in power/torque at all.

I have checked all the basic things on the car that could potentially cause problems. The datalogs that I took on the dyno appear completely fine (all sensors read correctly). I made a pull with vtec off and vtec turned on to see if there was a potential issue with vtec not working correctly. There was a 40-50whp difference in power with vtec turned off, which indicates that its functioning correctly. Again everything that I could check I have. I have had a few other turbo s2000s make poor power in the past, but they all had terrible log manifolds on them. The inline pro manifold is decent and works fairly well for what it is. I tuned another customers s2000 last week with a 35r inline pro kit with kpro and made 460whp at 15-16 psi level. I overlayed your current power/torque with his to reference at where your power should be. That graph is attached. I am also attaching the graph with the exhaust on, and exhaust dropped off to show the difference in power output. I am stumped as to why your particular set-up is not making the power that it should. Nothing stands out as an issue, and the installation work done by Epic is clean and thorough. Not sure how you want to proceed, but I am honestly out of ideas as to what is wrong with the car."

Evans tuning is probably the best and most helpful place i have ever dealt with.
The turbo kit was used when i bought it and i was told there was 3000 miles on it. There is no shaft play in the turbo and it spins smoothly.

I have no idea what could be wrong with the car and why it is dropping off at 6000rpm.
I appreciate any ideas and opinions. Thanks.

First dyno chart is my car and another s2000 with the same setup making way different numbers.

Second dyno chart is of my car alone.

is it possible your cam timing is really far off? Eh.... nevermind, the torque/power wouldn't match the other car on the lowend.

Ignition is weak? major boost leak? Where is boost being measure from? Was the intake mani taken off?

175 compression seems low. leak down test time. yeah there even, but all low.

No boost leak i don't know if they took off the intake mani. though. I have a Kpro with hondata boost solenoid for boost control.
O and I have a 3mm head gasket is that why the compression is low or is that still too low?
What should the compression be for each cylinder 200's? And could that be the problem for losing all the power I'm losing or is there something else that could be wrong? How much would a valve adjustment help? Thanks guys

i dont know much about turbo s2000 but then when i adjusted my valve the power made a different on the dyno..i put out some low number on my stock s2k and after if was adjusted it move up some HP on the dyno.

Hey thanks for the adjustment info and the Dyno numbers. The clutch is not slipping. I'm about 170whp under what I should be. I don't kno what would make up that much power?

first part of post from tuner led me to believe he's running a thicker headgasket, which would account for the low compression. I think I'd rule this one out

well yea you should be at least in the 400's something is off, maybe they did a poor job on the tune?? with as much boost that your running with that turbo you shouldn't be making THAT LOW of power. Especially since your on dynapack. you should be way over 400. your probably like 290 on dynamics or dyno jet.

go back to the shop and ask them to figure out why your not making the amount of power that you should. any professional tuner would know right away whats causing the problem with the amount of power your making.
