Default Header for Vortech at 9psi?

I'm seriously thinking about one of those $179 JVT Racing eBay headers, or maybe the Megan Racing one for $300 or so.

Has anyone taken the plunge on these things? I am NOT interested in spending a grand on a part which likely be of small benefit. I'm just having some fun and will be adding a Berk hi-flow cat to the system to further optimize things.

Speaking of which, I'm ass-uming that a header will add a bit more in a SC application than it does with NA. Might I be wrong?

Thanks in advance, guys...

go with the Megan. First tune a year ago was 360 hp at 11.5 psi, installed header after tune. This past one, redone with the header added 6 hp, and lessened psi to 10!

my increase is with a vortec sc, it went from about 9.5psi to 9. honestly 5 whp isn't that much when you have 360. it did help with the low end torque for around town.

All aftermarket headers have larger primaries and collectors. Anything that increases exhaust flow will help increase hp, noise, bling, whatever...

If you can get specs, dig them up and compare the headers in your price range. I believe there's a header thread somewhere deep in S2ki that may have specs on many headers.

No header is going to provide substantial gains at low boost levels on the F20/22. You will see substantial weight savings, a reduction in clutter, and some nice sound. Combined with a full exhaust, you might see 5 - 10hp.

I just had a header, and cat back exhaust installed yesterday, didn't get to dyno yet but the response is much better, let alone the factory exhaust and factory header are like 100 lbs so if anything is much better in weight too. I didn't spend much on mine and I love the repsone, I will get numbers in the near future but I KNOW it helped out!!! I'm vortech sc'ed at normal PSI from factory. nothing extra

lol...dude, the factory header is made of steel, not lead. You save about 14lbs switching to an aftermarket header.
