Default Heat Problems + Oil Burning

Hi guys,

I have been running a MASE kit with 750cc injectors and a PTE 6768 ball bearing at 10 psi at 400rwhp for around 3 years. AEM EMS. I have a fully built ferrea head (1 mil oversize valves) and when built had new rings and a hone on the block. The car suffers from massive heat issues and I wanted to see how normal this is. Over hot summer days in TX if I leave the car idling with the AC on for around 10-15 minutes it will over heat. It doesnt overheat as long as the AC is off, no matter what kind of driving precedes. It got so hot during a drive, the waste gate dump tube melted off! (See attached picture). The cooling system is factory water pump 90k miles, koyo radiator, FAL thin fans, mugen thermostat & fan switch.

Also, it burns oil off the throttle at corners or straits. Has OEM valve seals (same size as Ferreas according to rep) and no PCV just strait catch can. The turbo is clocked just about 2º and the oil return line is into the pan above the drain bolt (see picture) . Is this location too low?

Additionally, everything is gathering little spots on it, like there is some kind of electrical unbalance (picture), any thoughts?

I am taking out the AC and putting in an oil cooler, hondata intake manifold gasket and samco hoses, but im not sure what is really wrong here.

Can anyone offer any insight or related experiences?!

I guess i could check in the downpipe for an oil slick, but would this mean the oil is coming from the turbo, or could it still get burnt elsewhere and make its way out the back?

Fuse box is in the factory location, there is a metal heat shield between it and the manifold.

How's the compression/leakdown/head gasket?

As for the dump tube... I see it gone, but I don't see anything that indicates it getting too hot (picture sucks). That should be able to hand much hotter temps than your engine coolant sees.

Are you sure your fans are wired to pull not push air?

Also anyway your thermostat is sticking?

You should wrap your downpipe to prevent the bay from getting hot. What coolant are you running also? As mentioned, check to see if your fans are pushing or pulling.

Also, your drain should be good, mine is located there as well with no problems.

Thanks for the replies.

Coolant is honda 50/50 prediluted. Ill check the thermostat when i pull the hose off.

Compression test is around 230 +/- 5 across the board. I'll have to run a leak down. The headgasket is stock honda, replaced at build. I have had a cometic before ( failed) so I went back to the OEM.

I can't explain the dump tube atall?! Ill try to get some more pictures this afternoon.
The waste gate (TIAL 44mm) has a 7psi spring w/ an EMS controlled vacuum controller.

The fans are going the right way, I read the FAL thin fans have 700 CFM more (each) than factory so they should do the job right?

I read somewhere that those FAL thin fans are inferior in flow to the OEM ones. Can you swap back to stock and try them out?
