Default Help with EMU tuning

I need some help adjusting my Emanage Ultimate for the Greddy AP1 turbo kit.

Before anyone says it, yes I know I need to take it to a reputable tuner and have them do it. Current lack of funds won't allow me to get that done yet. The car was going to sit in my garage until summer and I was going to have it done then. That was until my DD Prelude took a dump on me today. Now I need to get the S up and running.

The only real problem I have with it is just off idle, like when taking off from a stop, the A/f guage reads 16 to 17, and obviously causes a hesitation. I'm not real comfortable driving it like this, but right now, I have no choice.

My question is, how would I go about using the the A/f target map to possibly clean up this area. Is it even possible to adjust the closed loop portion? I've logged the problem area and it happens at about the 1.0 mark on the factory pressure sensor. Would I have to adjust the scale on the injector and A/F target maps to maybe start with this reading? And if so, is it safe to lose some of the resolution in the scale in the higher(boost) section to allow this?

Any help you could give me would be great!

TIA,

Erich

What mods do you have on your car?? It is normal for the AFR's to go 16s and 17s when you let off the gas and let it idle. Mine is that way and I ran it for a year like that. My car rests in the garage for the winter.

Yeah, thanks, I should have mentioned that before. 76mm throttle body, test pipe and Invidia dual.

It's not during decel that I'm talking about. It's just off idle when taking off from a stop. Like a soon as you hit the gas to go, it leans out for a couple seconds.

I blame the 76mm TB, not a mod I would have done without going full stand-alone.

Good luck, maybe mugenRio will chime in or send you a PM

Yeah, it started after installing the throttle body, before the turbo kit was installed. I was under the impression that I could tune for it with the EMU though.

Has anyone else had this isuue after installing a larger throttle body?

If you can find the manual, I think there is an idle anti-stall feature I think I remember Mark telling me about over the phone one day. I don't know the menu to activate it but it should be in the manual which you can find online.

Thanks for all the ideas, but I don't think it's what I'm looking for.

I guess what I need is to know how to tune closed loop with the EMU.

This is what I tried yesterday:

Let the engine run for a few minutes with the O2 sensor unplugged to throw it into OL.

Used the A/F target map to get the problem area closer to where it should be.

Wideband then read approx 14.7, at idle, and in the problem area, in open loop.

Reset ECU (code cleared and fuel trims reset)

Started back up to check idle AFR and it's lean. STFT reads -20 or so immediately after going into closed loop.

What am I doing wrong?

I think your TB is the problem. For the moment, re-install the stock part and use the Greddy TK1 stock map. disable the acelleration maps and use the AF taget map to keep your afr's around 11.8 in boost.

Are you using the greddy pressure sensor?

How is your maps scaled? Are you tuning in negative pressure?
