Default Help me with my turbo frustrations

Well I had this same problem almost two months ago and put the MAP from my 97 3.0CL in and things went away for a while but just this week the problem has re surfaced..

It seems that anytime the car sees boost right now it pulls MASSIVE timing and dumps fuel and bogs. I get no check engine light etc..

What do you think it could be, bad MAP again or maybe the primary O2 sensor? Wouldn't either of these throw a code?

So should I just buy a new MAP and O2 sensor and hope one of them was the culprit?

Buy a new map and add a snubber if you have not done so yet. Dependening on your method of tuning you would be better to buy something like the Science of Speed unit.

I already have the snubber (I guess that's what you call it) that came with the Greddy kit.
I'm using the ultimate to tune and am not going to tune over 12 PSI so should I just buy a new OEM one and try it out?

Well my car completely sucks now every time that I go into boost. I pulled the MAP and did a "map whack" and also reset the ECU but it didn't make a difference this time. I also pulled the Greddy aluminum piece that goes on the throttle body where the map sensor use to be and the bottom of the aluminum piece had oil on it. My though is that oil vapor was being pushed into the map via the stupid hose going from my valve cover to my turbo intake. (hence I was presurizing oil vapor into the intake and it was also getting up into the map) That is going to be replaced with an oil catch can.

I'm going to clean everything out, put a new vacuum line, clean the intake and charge pipes out and put the new MAP sensor once it all comes in later this week.

I hope when all this is done the car will be fine. What a damn headache!

Do you have a reliable boost gauge? Are you spiking above 11-12psi?

i blame the emanage over and over again.

i hated hearing it when i had a greddy kit, but its true. get standalone management!

between the two of you it seems you've gone through almost all options - what else is left but the management?
