Default Help on v160 shifter

I have the v160 gearbox with the fullblown adapters and stuff .When we came to install the shifter assembly noticed the shaft that connects to the linkage on the gearbox is too long .I have checked with Toyota parts suppliers they told me it is a standard length .Does any one have any info about this ?? thanks in advance

What i mean is the shaft that connects to the gear selector rod on the gearbox is long . Toyota told me they come one standard size . If i connect the shaft the billet frame from full blown will not reach to bolt up the 2 bolts to the gearbox.
