Default High flow cat

I've ran a test pipe before with the regular bolt-ons but I can't stand the stink. I'm piecing together an inline pro stage 1 kit and have decided to include a high flow cat. Berk makes a HFC but it's not 3". I tried to contact Asura but he hasn't returned my email or messages. Any other options? For those running HFCs, what are you using?

Vibrant & Magnaflow make 3" metal core cats ($100).. you can have something custom made from it for your app.

The only thing is that I live in California and a lot of vendors won't sell aftermarket cats or install them =[

I used to live in ca and what I did before was bought a high flow cat and got oem flanges and had a weld shop weld the new flanges onto the hfc and did the install myself. That's if you can't find a bolt on. That way if you have to go get referee'd you just gotta unbolt the aftermarket and bolt on the oem. Don't weld the hfc onto your pipes bc this will make more headaches in case something happens. Muffler places esp. In ca will not touch the oem cat or replace it if it isn't broken its also illegal for them to do so. I have the berk 63mm right now but from my understanding berks use the magnaflow hfc. Can someone confirm that?

Yup, I do NOT want to weld the HFC to my exhaust in case I run into trouble later. Plus I don't want to ruin my exhaust by welding it. You're right that muffler shops will not replace the cat if it isn't broken. Sigh....might have to pay someone cash under the table

Berk makes a 70mm HFC that is a great solution. No, 70mm isn't a full 3", but it's still very good. Bolts on and off easily...

Some people have taken the heat shields off their OEM cat and put them on their HFC or test pipe for a stealth look... Pretty sneaky. Most people would look at it and just think it's an OEM cat.

I read on a form somewhere on here that 70mm header back to 70mm cat and than 3 inch pipes to muffler produces more power? Might be something you wanna look at. I will try to find the thread.
