Default HKS F-Con EMS

I posted this in the Electronics but I might be more responses from here instead...

So just curious, I know people have installed the HKS onto the S2k and I want to know what they think about it versus the AEM and other EMS available...

Also was there any complications installing it?

Thanks in advance,

Zac

Its a very good system, only problem with it is that only a HKS Pro dealer can tune it. You will not be able to see anything yourself.

Its a very good system, but the lack of tuners for the FCon deters people from using it.

Go to GTMOTORING.com they have in supply and have a tuner that is certified Great system but i think its over rated for 3200 bux. just for the system itself. AEM EMS costs like a grand less and works just as great if its tuned by the right tuner.

I heard of how good the system is and was wondering of using that vs using an AEM inwhich everyone knows about the startup and other issues.

There are no startup issues with the AEM, only with tuners.

Okay I will agree with the statement from AusS2000 about the startup issue. I wasn't aware of tuners being able to fix the issue.

Now the question is... the F-Con is emissions compliant. Because I heard they can plug into the OBD port if I'm right. AEM still does not do that so when you are an emission's testing faciliity you're screwed still?

i bet the fcon will fail emissions also, unless it is just a piggy-back to the factory ecu. in that case go aem-fic!

Not sure where $3200 came from. I have seen it from their website for $1300. Not sure what harness you need etc.

Yes AEM EMS will leave you feeling cold at the emissions station

Right from HKS website

The HKS F-CON V Pro is a fully featured standalone engine management system that connects as easily as a "piggy-back" fuel and timing controller. As modifications to a vehicle are made, the need for fuel and timing adjustments becomes critical for performance and safety. The F-CON V Pro with its 32x32 resolution for both fuel and timing maps is the optimal solution. The F-CON V Pro can control up to eight injectors and D Jetro or L Jetro setups. more
