Default Hondata Flashpro Boost Control PWM Mod

So im going to be sending out my ECU to HONDATA for the PWM mod. This is for boost control via flashpro. Has anyone done this and have insight on how to send and package the ECU safely? Also, Which solenoid did you use? Hondata 4 port seems to be the one im leaning towards paired with a Hondata Map sensor. Im assuming the removal of the ECU is straight forward : unclip harness, remove 10mm bolts?

any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks

Very staright forward. Very fast turn around time too. I believe there are 3 bolts securing the ecu. I just used a usps box i think it was like $15 for shipping. Make sure to include your order form as well. I originally went with the hondata 4 port solenoid but can not get it to work properly. My tuner says its just too sensitive and not ideal for my case where im trying to target something like 10, 12, 14, 16, 18psi. I think its ideal for ppl seeking higher psi's like 15, 20, 25, 30 for example. If you want to give it a try ill sell you mine for less than what hondata sells it for, its basically new. As for the 4bar hondata map sensor, it hasnt given me any grief.

oh, and when you go to wire in the solenoid to the b16 port, theres a small locking clip youll need to remove first on the factory ecu harness before inserting the new clip into it. Its a bitch since theres barely any room and youll prob be on your back contorted under the dash. If i had to do it again id remove the drivers seat unless youre under 5'8 and 150lbs with dainty fingers, youll prob be fine.

Thanks for responding... I have heard about issues with the 4-port so im not 100% on it... 3-port MAC seems just a good...

also, do you think its better to remove the clip you mention on B16 before re installing the eCU?

Agreed. ^^

You won't be able to install the connector into ecu with that clip up, If I read ur question right.

they just hang there on floor side. I never had to take my ecu out but should be just a lil easier to have all wires n connectors rdy to go once ur ready to re install.

I think the most important thing is to have those pins crimped correctly. I also ran loom around the wire to negate rubbing and tight spots as to not short it out.

Yea, you definitely want a proper double barrell crimper tool and make sure its crimped 100% correctly. Buy a few extra pins just incase you ruin any.
youll want to remove the white locking clip off the connector before trying to insert the pin into the connector.

I am seriously thinking about using ktuner V2 for my 06 because you don't have to send Ecu out and it's flex fuel capable. Anyone have any thoughts on this tuning solution?

I just pried up. Like an un-locking pin feature but did not need to totally pull off. Idk I guess I could of done it wrong...but it worked

those same reasons sold me on it. Although I have not had a chance to exploit the flex yet. You can manipulate timing and boost separately per E percentage.

I feel in this day of software tuning it should have live tuning... this may just be a caveat to having these great perks though and giving up not having to send in to re allocate a pin for bbg.

it was somewhat of a hurdle I could tell because he wasn't thrilled about flashing after every run butt it wasn't a deal breaker.

I like the touch...you can clear and read codes. It has a mess of different gauge faces as well as a UI with like 11 different parameters you can show (like 40 to choose from tho) as well as E percentage. ...some UI's only have like 4 spots reserved for parameters and then an rpm sweep. It just all depends on what you want or looking for.

In the right hands from my point, it's just as capable but not as user friendly in a tuners eyes(06-09S2k) cuz it does have live tuning for other car applications.

Also believe it's one of the cheapest options for these capabilities.

No need to swap just for the bbg tho. FP seems to me a little more stable. There is a app for the touch to video out with overlaying parameters tho. Which I want to check out. On top of that a giant bank for data logging. Could be useful in the right hands. I'm also banking on a lot of updates in the future for it to expand to so. Will see.

How do you like it? any issues besides having to wait the 2 minutes per flash?
And any shots of the set up?
Don't think many people are running it yet
