I do not think its possible. I have one on my SCed car with no issues (I also bypassed all the sensors on my intake manifold and throttle body). Excellent mod though if you can take 4 hours at least to install it

very true. You would have to get that gasket super hot in order to melt it. At that point something else will be horribly wrong before the gasket fails.

yes. i did it twice with a supercharger. They have released new ones with different material.. The first one split in half causing serious off and on over heating problems. The second one because of the heat some how shifted and caused it move and not get proper clearance causing it to fail and leak coolant all over. I'd say if you can put them in yourself they are worth it. If not look forward paying $$$ to get it replaced. Just not worth 5% increase in TQ..

I've had mine on the car since 3000 miles and going turbo back in 03 and have been having off and on overheating issues lately. I'm starting to wonder if it is this gasket that has failed and causing it. At first I thought I had blown the HG running 28 psi on my 60-1 but haven't opened it up yet to check. Maybe I'll take the IM off and see if it's the problem. The car still pulls strong as hell under boost but you can smell a slight bit of coolant smell out the back with slight smoking. Could the IMG, if it's leaking, cause that? The weird thing too is I have absolutely no signs of any coolant getting into my oil so this makes me suspect it could be the IMG. What do you think?
