Default Hondata Intake Gasket and Boost

Did a lot of reading of posts found by using the frustrating search engine. Have read that it will leak boost and others thinking it will impact cooling effectiveness of the head. See there are some that recommend not using it, others that feel the other way.

I ran one a JRSC equipped Integra GSR and had no problems.

More concerned with input from people using it and not having problems, any that have had problems/issues, and anyone that has some firm science about why it is good or bad.

I use it as well as several other SC'd locals. It has never given any of us problems and holds boost with no issue. The only thing to keep in mind is it will compress slighly so you will have to check the mani bolts after a few heat cycles.

Since it compresses it may slighly "intrude" into the path of the intake charge. I removed the intake mani after running the gasket for quite some time and port matched the gasket because I could see where it mis-matched plus I had other stuff done at the time.

Hope this helps.

Thanks John - not sure I fancy the idea of pulling off once on to trim/port match.

I've been running a Hondata Intake manifold gasket for over 3 years. My engine has been above one bar of pressure many times. No leak problems here. The cool intake manifold certainly helps in the heat soak department. If you want to see improved response while warm this is a good addition. So Cal gets warm.

As always Sideways - your input is welcomed. Gets pretty warm here in Arizona also

I've been running it with 16 psi and no problems.

But if it blocks the coolant line into the throttle body, were do you plug your turbo coolant lines into?

Not that worth while of a mod. I don't think I'd even consider it unless I was plagued by massive amounts of heat soak for some reason and nothing else has stopped it...or if the engine was still in the car. It's really not worth the labor to me.

I think its too much of a pain in the ass to change.I did however install one in my turbocharged integra.I did not feel any noticable difference and my datalogs only showed a SLIGHT difference before and after.Too much trouble in my opinion.
