How do I use a Digital Multi-meter
Ok being as though I will need to re-calibrate my TPS sensor and I want to play around with my current one I went and bought a Sperry Instrument Digital Multimeter, it says 17 ranges and 5 functions
is the TPS sensor to be measured by AC, or DC current and do I want to set it to 200 or 600, the Black V or the red V~, whats with the Omega sign and where do I stick the wires there are four holes one has an A one has an Omega sign, one has COM and one has a V
Directions assume u know what your doing, I however dont

DC is what you want to set it to; and you want to use the red and black V ports for your multimeter leads. Black is for your ground, red is for power. It you take a reading with these reversed, it will show up as a negative number on your read-out. And on the 200 or 600... I assume that this is your range... You should place it on the lowest setting, as Batt pwr should not be over 28VDC give or take a few....
DC.
What is the make/model of the multi-meter?
I set mine to "600V" with a "~" over the "V". The "~" means DC. Mine has a sign that is some dashed-lines below a solid line (like below) that is above the "V" for another setting. I think that is the sign for AC.
If you set it incorrect, I think it just will not read anything (I have set mine to AC before, and it didn't register a legit signal). Test it on a known circuit until you get the correct reading (fuse box, accessory plug, for example, under the driver's side dash should read 14.4 with engine on, and 12.2 with ACC on, and nothing with key out.)
I have a Sperry DSA-500.
