Congratulations on the build
Dont take my word because I dont have a turbo myself, and am definately not an expert but I have not seen anyone with 8:1's yet, lowest i have seen is 9:5 but that may have been with the 3mm gasket so I dont even know
Depends on how much boost you are running

A NA S2000 with 8.0:1 compression would be a turd. A S2000 with 15psi and 8.0:1 would be quite a bit quicker. How much boost you are running and how well it's tuned will be the deciding factor on how it "feels".

i had them do 8;1 because i want to run 20psi on a regular basis.

the s2k is basicly a little fun car that i will drive maybe 75 miles a week with. so it might as well be a verry fun 75 miles.

Well, 8:1 should be good for 40 or 50 lbs so they will handle the 20 lbs no problem.
You may notice degraded low end performance. Keep us posted.
