How many turbo'd S2K's have hot A/C?
Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone else that was turbo'd has been having hot A/C as well? I know that most, if not all, of the local turbo guys all have hot A/C in there cars with myself included. I'm hoping that maybe we can come up with a solution for it. I'm not too sure if its because the condenser is being blocked from the FMIC or if its because the A/C lines are so close to the turbo, but I would like to fix the problem if it is at all possible. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.
It's the A/C lines too close to the exhaust side. You can try to get the manifold & downpipe coated along with a bunch of shields. I would really try to put that heat reflective tape on the A/C lines because they work very well. Don't forget to make sure you have R134 in the lines too
Bending them can potentially cause a leak.

Bending them can potentially cause a leak.and i have no problems with my ac and i didnt have to bend or modify the ac lines.
I do HVAC for a living common sense to me would say its a lil of both the condenser being blocked off aswell as the suction line being right next to the base of heat, BUT i dont have that problem so maybe it is a leak?

Am going to have to agree with kane there, because am turboed
and i have no problems with my ac and i didnt have to bend or modify the ac lines.

I don't think this is the case here or at least my case. Although yes, cooling efficiency may go down but my A/C was always cold.
Recently a few months after turboing my A/C got hot. I put some R134 and it got cooler for a little while.
I believe the heat fro the turbo may have softened some o-rings.?? If there are any in the lines. Don't know and haven't really looked into this issue yet.
I don't turn my AC on much, but last time I had to turn it on was because of fogging up of mirrors cuz of some bad weather...
Well it was blowing VERY cold... I actually had to keep the fan speed set to low or I started getting too cold
I'd say to check for leaks. I have the Inline kit and with that kit A LOT of heat is concentrated in that one spot around the manifold but I still have no problems with the AC. :knocksonwood:

So far every S w/ the inline kit that I talked to is having A/C problems.
Disclaimer: Not saying the inline kit is directly causing this
