Default How much boost can I get away with?

I am getting my new turbo setup done and want to know if I can get away with more than 16psi on 103-109 octane gas? I have CP 8.8:1 compression, SuperTech Spring Retainers, Dual Valve Springs, ARP HeadStuds and stock rods and sleeves.

Whats do you guys think? Can I get away with 17-18psi?

I don't see why not. With that setup and a good tune I would think you could break into the 20s easily. But as always it all depends on the tune and running conditiond (weather, baro pressure, blah blah).

Are you sure about that? Assuming my tuning is right with good timing and air/fuels on 103-109 octane, wouldn't you still be concerned about my stock sleeves and rods holding up at higher than 17psi? How much boost can stock sleeves and rods handle?

The BIG question that no one has the answer to yet. Let us know how it goes.

S2000 rods are forged, so they are not that weak. As far as the walls, I don't but I highly doubt that with the 8.8:1 ratio you'd have a problem at 17-18psi. This is just my opinion and what I would do. It's your motor, don't let me make decisions for you

I was hoping to find that someone has tryed running higher boost on stock sleeves. Has no one tryed it with longer term use yet?

You could check out the inline pro kit out of sringfield VA.
When I have mentioned this in the past it causes a ruckus on the forum.
They use the stock sleeves, crank pistons, and rods. I know they use a 3 mm head gasket to run 18 psi on pump gas.
I have the kit and did not have a problem with it. My engine problem came from blowing the oil filter gasket and loosing 2 qts of oil. So don't use Fram.

Ultimatly your car and your decision. I hope this helps you out.
