Iv been told that my Inlinepro built block will handle 30+ psi with no problem. Only limit will be how much boost my turbo can handle. Once i get my car back and retuned i will post all the numbers.

I've gotta ask, how is it evo's / sti's after a built engine can run 35+psi and our built engines can only handle in the 25-28psi range safely? Are the engine blocks made out of different material or is it both can run 35psi but the major question is how long can they run the 35psi for without a kaboom?

Yes this is a little off topic but I was just wondering about it.
I'd have to say that at 30-35 psi of boost, you'd be at 700+ whp with a good setup. Why would you want more?

correct, with a turbo it seems a safe number on stock compression is 10psi maybe a little more if you trust your tuner and don't mind a little less life in the engine.
you can run a bar of boost just fine on stock compression on 93 octane.

That isnt the case at all.

A few things you should note.

Evo's & STI's have lower compression than most hondas (built or factory compression) There is a lot of factors involved. They will boost the crap out of it to make power. Not long ago I tuned an EVO that had to run 39 psi of boost before we could break the goal mark of 700 AWHP. With a similar setup on an f20c it wouldnt take near that. the evo head doesnt flow too well. combine that with the lower static compression. you will need a good bit more boost.

I have yet to see an s2000 motor break the rods/pistons with a perfect tune. U see lots of them failing due to bad tuning/improper setup/running beyond limitations.

I have yet to see an s2000 engine first hand fail by making too much power. Most people have to stop due to fueling limitations/or limitations by their turbo setup.

I have tuned stock f20c motors over 500 whp and they are still running. I'm about to do some more testing on the stock motor. Without lowering compression. Should be interesting.

Regards,
Mase

i ran 10 psi on a vafc-II rising rate fpr on rc 550cc injectors. Im no expert tuner or anything like that but my car ran well self tuned on the street. I actually raced a few people and beat them. Of course you can only do so much with a vafc with upgraded injectors so i sold it. The only thing was it ran rich at idle 11.7-13.5 and it bounced around from 13.3-15.8 cruising but under boost it was 11.7-10.7 all the way to redline. Im going greddy emanage by spring with a cometic 3mm headgasket and we'll see what kind of numbers i put down. turbo is all about the tune though. People have told me you can't/its impossible to run with just a vafc-II not impossible but limited to what you can do safely. 20 psi+ i'd go with the aem ems. Ill probably go ems when i fully built my motor.

Lucky me I have jeff evans and for those who do not know him he is the tuner for FULL RACE! This kid is sick and if you go on his site he has many s2000 he has tunned anywhere from 391hp to 500ish. Kid is a master mind when it comes to tunning
