I only have 400 dollars of credit debt

All of my FI funding has been through student grant money (I love free money), and insurance money from comprehensive claims that I used towards FI parts instead of paying dealership prices to fix stuff that was vandalised or hit. I bought used parts to fix what was damaged and had thousands left over

The rest I just saved over a few months. I bought almost everything used to save money. The total cost of my turbo project is costing me around 6,500 and that's including clutch, installs, and tuning.

Gotta play the game smartly if you don't want to go into debt!

I'm the same way. I saved up $6000 and used about $5800 so far when I did my SC, Clutch, labor, etc. But then again, I bought everything new. I wouldve saved thousands of dollars if I got a great used kit, etc.

I am not FI, but it seems like used is the way to go. You can get a used supercharger for $3500, a turbo for a little more. Seems like the real variable in cost is tuning.

I dont know that going into debt to mod your car is really the best use of debt. But if you want it now and have the means to pay for it then I guess that's fine. I guess if I was ready to go FI and knew I could pay myself back and saw a good deal, I'd hit the credit cards.

$0.00

I try not to spend money I don't have. Very little wiggle room if something unforseen were to happen.

But that's just me.

definately get it used if you can find a good deal on one. Just make sure you get all the parts needed for the install or it's going to be a headache figuring out what you need.

That being said right now i spent in the ball park of 5,800 on everything. I still need to install this bad boy and tune it but have everything needed for raising the boost.

I picked up an aem ems, rc 750cc injectors, clutch kit from hardtopguy (installed), If you want a good and affordable tune drive it down to church's automotive in socal. That's what i'm doing.

If you can do all the installs yourself you'll save hundreds of dollars.

I have no debt as I don't spend money if I don't have it, but I have probably dropped 10k on the motor.
