Default how to pick the right size slick

sup guys im trying to get some info on the correct size slicks for our cars,right now im looking at a 26x8.5x15 or a 28x9.0x15...what would be the correct size that will fit? also how do u figure out the correct offset for the rim? can any1 post up what they're running and what need to be done to run the current size they are using?

if ur using radials what size are u running with what rim? i know kings performance ran a 9.x with 255 radial..did any1 try anything bigger or smaller?

Kings performance sells the weld wheels 15x9 I'm not sure the offset. I believe the radials can go up to like 275/60r15

I have the 255/50r16 mt et street drag radials

26" tall is most likely the biggest you will fit in the s2000 wheel well without hitting the rear bumper mount. Offset is a simple idea but most wheels are measured in backspacing when looking for drag setups. The s2000 needs a very high backspacing (or + offset) to clear the quarter panel and likely those 15x9's are in the area of 7" of backspacing or around +45 to +50 offset. I am just throwing those numbers out there from the research I have done and my own experiences. I do not actually know the offset or backspacing of those wheels.

The 255/50/16 drag radial is a great tire and by slick measurements is a 26/10.5/16. Only problem with a drag radial is the sudden shock load is not absorbed by the tire like a slick and it all goes to the drivetrain. Even with a built setup you are risking damage.

How much power do you have and how fast do you want to go?

Yeah the 26x10r15 fits perfect or the 26x8.5r15 fit great

I made 706...i went to the track yesterday was spinning tires even in my lowest boost setting..i was
Using kumho ecsta v700 road race tires i got from a
Friend...thought they would hook but oviously not, im trying to get in the 10/9 if possible

I like them a lot. They seem to hook and they are streetable. Im still running them with a best time of 10.01@145

Is your tune on boost by gear? That will make a huge difference at the track

Im still debating on trying to take mine to the track with the drag radials I have or waiting to get slicks...scared to break stuff even though I just installed the ford 8.8 haha.

The 26 x 8.5 x 15 will be more than enough for most on here. Even if it's not set the car up around the tire and track.
