Default How Reliable are Turbos on an s2?

I am thinking about going turbo on my 00 s2. I just wanted to know who has been turbo the longest and what their setup is. How much are you boosting? Any internal mods? What kit? How do you drive it? How many miles have you had it for? and anything else that you guys think would help me out. Thanks a lot.

i know i am not the longest user of a turbo but i am running 5 pounds with no internal mods. i have a custom made turbo kit. most people run about 7 pounds but i just wanted a safe street car. i works great. i have had it on for about 1,000 miles so far. i am running a greddy emange computer with mine also. most people will tell you to run a aem ems witch is the right way to do it but if you just want a street car with more power i haven't had a problem yet. the best kit right now is probably the love-fab kit. it is alittle more but it comes with an aem ems. either way i think turbo is the fun and reliable.

7000 miles here, one track day, one 3200 mile road trip(and some INSANE driving while there) and the only problem Ive had is turbo bolts backing out during the track day(tightened them up, good to go). As a result, kits will come with longer bolts and locking nuts for the reverse side of the flange. No more loose bolts
Tuning makes or breaks a turbo setup! The AEM EMS solves that if your tuner knows what they are doing(must tune the basemap before boosting).

It's as reliable as you want it to be. Don't skimp out on fuel management and don't get too crazy with the boost and tuning.

our kits start at $6200, everything you need to hit 350whp RELIABLY on a completely stock motor. I chose to heir on the safer side of 350whp because we can have 70 degree temperature changes week-to-week here(it was 20 last week, 85 the previous week to that). Just make sure you do the research before you blow a bunch of $ and your motor.
