For the injectors, I was running RC650's at 8psi boost and it was great. My tuner told me those would be good for over 400hp too. I dont think ID1000's are overkill, but you will have so much more room to grow if you ever decided you wanted more in the future.
Keep in mind that he's DBW and does not have the luxury of installing a FPR (unless he goes returnless) so ID1000s are pretty much required for the kit. They drive basically like stock, though expect your gas mileage to go down (obviously, as you're essentially doubling the factory output). I get 18-21 mpg. Also keep in mind that 06+ ID1000s are different than 00-05 injectors so don't buy the wrong ones.

So I have to get spesifically 1000cc injectors because of how my fueling system has a return.

There is no option to keep stock fueling and run 650 with the regular fuel pump. Or even 650cc with upgrades fuel pump?

What major differences are there with the 06+ ID1000?
Does anyone know of an 06+ ID1000 plug and play? I'd rather not have to pin them into my harness...

ID1000s are just a great all around injector that idles like stock. You can definitely get PNP connectors.

Even without the need for room to grow, my goals considered you still recommend them?

I'm having trouble finding them with plug and play

I ran them when my car was just on 8psi also. I believe they are a better injector than the RCs. Any vendor that sells injectors should be able to get you the PNP clips for like 35 bucks.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think 06+ DBW are returnless, as my 08 is returnless. Also, my Vortech kit came with RC650 injectors. What's the correlation between NOT having a returnless fuel system and ID1000's being required?

You cannot increase the fuel pressure as boost pressure increases like you can on a return style system. Therefore, when your boost level is at 10psi, the injectors are essentially ejecting fuel with 10psi less pressure than at standard atmospheric pressure. To compensate, you need a larger injector in the returnless cars. I ran out of fuel with my ID1000s at ~360whp on 91 octane while others have gone well past 450 with a return system on the same size injectors.

OP, you can buy the PNP connectors directly from T1R or ID. I don't know which ones you need. I also still have an extra set laying around if you wanted them for ~$20 but they are not the ones from T1R so I had some connection reliability problems with them. You may be able to fix them by bending the pins, but I bought the T1R ones from my tuner and haven't had a problem since.

(Big disclaimer) I'm not sure where RC is with their current injector technology, but before everyone went to the bosch style injector (many many years ago-like the halcyon days of the B-series) RC's were known for so so idle and drivability after 550 cc or so. When the bosch units popped up, the difference was night and day. You would never get stock idle at 900-1000cc injector with RCs. That is trivial with the newer style injectors. My idle is a steady 800-850 with FICs (900cc @ 54 PSI base pressure).

edit: It may have been for 750cc and up injectors. Honestly, that was some time ago and my memory has gone the way of my hair (very little of it left).

Going from stock injectors, to the RC650's that Vortech provided, then ID1000's, I honestly didn't notice any difference from stock to RC650's to ID1000's. Maybe each car is different.

I've only heard about the bad experiences with the bigger RC's from members here, so that's why when I upgraded to the bigger ones I went with the ID's.

If OP were to go with a bigger pulley (4.5) for lower boost (<6psi), would stock injectors and fuel pump be ok?

I'd still like it done correctly, if the fuel pump and injectors are recommended then I'll be sure to do this properly. I was just curious I'd ID650 would be sufficient or if it's pretty much anything less than 1000 will cause issues?
