Default Increasing the Boost on Inline Pro state 1 kit

Hey guys,

I decided to increase the boost on my inline pro kit since I was chaing out the exhaust system and had to get it retuned. I purchased an electrical exhaust cutout so when its on full boost, it will be like having no restriction. I currently run the stock exhaust with a 3 inch downpipe from the turbo.

Some Background
My car is an ap1 with 139k miles and the original valves, retainers and oil banjo bolts. I check the oil every week and make sure its always full and have had 0 problems with the turbo. Probably have taken it hard within these few months 70-80 times.

My concern is that I have read that 12 psi is pretty safe with the stock compression plus running my gt30 turbo which is smaller than others. Should I just go to 12 psi and call it a day or is it alot more stress lets say increasing it to 14psi. I just would hate to do another retune if I decide to go a bit higher on the boost.

HP wise, I will be happy around 400-425rwhp.

Thanks

I think you could take it up to 12 and maybe 14 psi if you have 93 or want to use meth injection, the tuner should better be able to tell you. I am a bit concerned about the cut out, it may cause creep with the 38 turbo smart WG. If your tuning with the AEM it may be controlable but off a boost controller it may be hit or miss. Also the turbo your running could have an impact as well. Good luck you should be OK for the most part.

at 9psi Im at 345/245. yea that was my concern before but why would it creep at 12 if its not creeping now at 9. Now that there isnt much backpressue does it tend to creep.

To be safe, i might stick with 12 and call it a day. I know currently to prevent creep he has a cutout or something of that sort on the aem to cut the fuel if it does. Im looking to get a boost gauge also.. Just waiting for an aem serial gauge to pop uo for sale one of these days used.

If you don't have creep now your gonna be OK but you stated you want to do a cut out. I think 12 is good as well maybe go to 14 if you use meth.

Forget the psi, turn up the boost and make around 425whp on pump.

Are you running the stock map sensor? If so you will have to swap it out with one set to a higher bar if you go around or over 12psi. Get a full 3"exhaust and run it at 12psi and you should end up around 400 I wouldn't push the boost too much with that many miles on the motor.

Yep picked up a omni 4 bar map sensor, turbosmart manual boost controller, and the DMH electronic exchaust cutout to kinda have a open header type system when I want to open it up. I think that alone is going to give me great gains since I will have pretty much no back pressure.

Should have it tuned by late this week if the parts come in today or tomorrow.

Agreed. And it will end up over 400whp. I don't think I've seen a Inline turbo kit make less than that when tuned properly.
