Default injector size vs hp

Hey guys,

I did some searching around and couldn't exactly find the answer I was looking for. This is my first turbo build on an s2k. I'm willing to push the envelop and try to make the most power I can out of a stock motor, if it blows then it gives me the excuse to build it I was just wondering on and injector size for me to reach this goal (not to blow up)

Build goes as follows:

Sheepey built manifold
Sheepey built 800hp+ intercooler
Tial 44mm mvr wastgate
Tial 50mm bov
Precision 6262 journal
Fb fuel rail
Fb 355 fuel pump
-10 lines
aeromotive a1000 reg
Aem water/methonal injection

I'm running a similar setup to you dual 450's -8 feed and -6 return 6262 turbo looking to make 650 or better on E85. I have dw 1300cc injectors now but I'm going to get the id1700cc injectors, I hear great things about them on E85 not so much on pump gas though. More info with fuel type and power numbers will help, but I would say id1300cc would work with 93 pump and Aem water/methanol injection.

I definitely want to get up to 600hp. If I can run e85 and only need to change the inline filter to do so then I'd defiantly be tuning e85! Would id2000 still be overkill even with e85?

The id2000cc will work fine, but the id1700cc have stainless steel internals.

Get ID1700 for E85. There have been issues with ID2000 gumming up using Ethanol fuel.

My setup would make 600whp but I'm only running ID1000. Not that 526whp isn't enough already. But i'm sure my injecotors are maxxed out.

Awsome thanks for all the feed back! One last thing, when running e85 is there anything that has to be changed other then the inline fuel filter

You will need a e85 compatible fuel pump and injectors. That's about it for a easy setup

I've found this injector calculator is useful.

Looks like with a target of 600 HP turbo on E85 with max of 85% duty cycle you'd need at least 1200 cc/min.

I dyno'd at 693whp on 21psi with my id1700s at a 55psi base pressure. Don't remember the exact duty cycle, but we had planned on going for mid 700-800 and had plenty left in the injectors, just hit our limit with the wastegate spring combo with the boost solenoid. My setup is as follows:

Stock bottom end F20
Urge Designs/Endyn built head
Twin Walbro 450s -10 feed -8 return
Sheepey Manifold
6262 DBB gen2
ID1700 injectors

I'm actually making 22.5 tapering to 22 on the street now, so should be somewhere just over 700whp. Limiting factor for us was a 7lb wastegate spring limited the boost solenoid to only make 21-22 psi. Plenty of fuel left with the slightly higher base pressure on the 1700s. Next time I datalog, i'll do a 4th gear pull and log IDC and come back with an exact number for you.
