Default Inline Pro 3mm Headgasket instal

Im lowering compression for my Turbo build with the 3mm headgasket.

We lowering compression mostly because of the quality of fuel here and not cause we aim on going for big HP. In fact we only going for 350HP.

My question is should I replace the headbolts with ARP or just re-use my OEM bolts?? Im no expert and didnt even think of this until my mechanic mentioned it!

leave the stock gasket and bolts. ive asked the same question and ended up returning both the head gasket and studs. from what ive been told the gaskets blow frequently and the OEM studs have more clamping force than the ARP studs, and be re-used

OEM are head bolts not studs. And never re use head bolts. NEVER. They are torque to yield and once they are torqued that is it. They stretch and lose their clamping ability if you try to re use them. I had a friend that tried to re use them and had all kinds of problems and finally he went with ARP studs.

I kinda doubt that OEM head bolts have more clamping force than ARP studs.

To the OP don't get a thick head gasket or head gasket spacer. I've seen multiple ones fail, not just the Inline Pro one either.

I cant agree on the stock bolts having more clamping force than the arps, or it being a good idea for them to be reused

Guys we have 95 octane here but the quality of the fuel is very bad!almost all turbo hondas here have to drop compression to run safely!unfortunately that's how it is here in south africa!so I reckon arp studs then?

I did a quick google search:

•Various types of petrol (gas/fuel) are available in South Africa: unleaded, 97-, 95- or 93-octane ("super" or "premium"). The 95-octane petrol is available at higher altitude, as well as 93-octane. At the coast, your choice is between 95- and 97-octane. Both Leaded and Lead Replacement fuel are available.

Is 95 octane comparable to our 89 octane?

(87 being low - middle of the road 89 - and 93 octane being premium)
