Inline pro, full race or full blown stage 2 turbo kit
I've started researching turbo kits for my ap1 as Ive decided on keeping the car for another 5 years or so instead of moving on to something different. Problem is, I've never owned or played around with a turbo car so I'm not as up to date as I wish I was with what works best with what. I've narrowed down the list of what i think would work best for me to a stage 2:-
Full Race
Full Blown or
Inline Pro kit.
Also, the selection of turbine has me a little stumped:-
Gt3071r
Gt3076r or
Gt3582r
Or would anybody recommend a completely different set up that I may have missed? What is the difference between the 3071 and the 3076?
I don't want a dodgy set up from EBAY but I don't want to rack up a bill much more than the $6000 mark. Spending this type of money I want atleast 400+whp which I assume is pretty realistic number. A gt30 should be fine for these numbers but I was thinking the gt35 so i wouldnt need to buy a new turbo if I want more power down the track.
As I said, I have little experience on forced induction so any comments, ideas, info or recommendations would be much appreciated. I'm not too keen on super chargers, much rather a turbo

If you really want to go turbo, expect to spend $10,000+USD. Any of those kits you mention are solid kits. There are so many choices, it comes to personal preference. All those kits will get you 400whp easily.
I'm sc'd, but if I were to go turbo, I'd take a hard look at the SOS kit. I think the only thing I'd add would be ATP heat shielding for the turbine/dp. I think it has the best compromises. The rest of the kit looks really good. The other kits you mentioned have big manifolds and no heat shielding (things will get very very hot under hood). You will need to address this with those kits.
Look at the kits that dont require relocations. Trackforged, PTuning, SOS and Full Blown's brand new kit they just came out with. Those will be the most stress free kits. With any turbo kit however, you will need to manage heat. And since you're on an AP1, a fuel and engine management system alone is gonna cost around $1500. Then you'll need a clutch / PP / flywheel set up that could push towards $500. So you're almost half way to your $5k mark and havent even bought a kit yet.
However, 400whp is very doable with every kit. The turbo selection is just dependent on your goals, to break it down very basically; smallest to biggest; gt3071 > 3076 > 3582. 3071 would be good if you want to make under 400, 3076 can hit close to 600 and 3582 is good for anything over 600

Just installed a stage 2 organic competition clutch 300km's ago, still breaking it in. As for engine management, I and have an emanage ultimate brand new still in its box. Had both of these laying around the house before I planned on boosting it. Hopefully the clutch holds up for a little while, and I've heard the emanage is fine unless your building a full race car.
Already looked into the SOS and the ptuning kits, and i just thourght the 3 i mentioned sounded a little better bang for buck, but ill have to look into the track forged kit today. As it stands now I'm leaning towards the full blown kit with a 3076. I'm getting exited but don't want to rush into any thing I'm going to regret buying or not buying

10,000+ ? All these kits are going for around the $5500mark, I'm pretty mechanical minded and have a mate whos a licensed mechanic and is willing to help with the install. Then a tune, $1200 and some injectors, $600 there abouts. If we're doing all of the labor I was under the impression id do it for just over $7000. What other things will I need that's going to add up to $10000? I am prepared to run into a dilemma and have to throw a little more cash at it. What part of the build would you say is most likely to cause me a head ache or another couple of weeks wages? Just so I can be prepared
Things pop up. Depending on your mileage your engine or differential mounts may be gone or about to go. Figure a few hundred for oem replacements. Same goes for your coil packs. Old ones work, but my top end performance improved with new ones. You don't have to and again depending on mileage, but some upgrade the valvesprings. That's close to a grand. You will have to do something for heat management: good turbo blanket, heat wrap and lots of protective tape. Expect at least 150 for that. Depending on which kit, some recommend relocating the AC lines, battery, or fuse box. Anywhere 0-250 for that (depends if you need to do this).
You may notice your hoses are cracking during the install. That adds a few dollars. You going to reuse the same serpentine belt? When you drop your transmission for your clutch change, the foam noise isolator may have disintegrated. You'll need a new one. You'll probably need to re-grease the shifter. That a few more dollars for oem grease. Are you going to flush your transmission oil? You have it down. What about your diff oil? You'll need new hex head prop shaft bolts. Don't reuse the old ones. I'm sure I'm forgetting stuff, but you get the idea. The nickle and dimes start stacking up.

Head has just been pretty much fully rebuilt, with new valve springs, stems and seals. 7 angle valve job and a full service. Also has brand new hardrace engine, gearbox and diff mounts with new gears, and cvs all around with new axles.
Nearly every bolt removed was replaced with new ones along with all oils refreshed, shifter already greased, with any average looking hose replaced while car was apart.
The full blown kit also doesn't require any relocations so I'm really leaning towards it. I have some koni yellow rear shocks on the way too. So really, I shouldn't have too much to replace or upgrade regarding all the little things, I hope. But I'm sure there will be.
Alright, I'm going to read up about some gtx turbos and some coils, any body recomend any brands other that the OEM ones? Thanks guys
