No way!!!you could drop a cast iron manifold hard and it won't crack that easy. I will say contact inlinepro to cee what they could do for you ,they always stand behind their products and work.

My guess is that the manifold was damaged somehow..
It really shouldn't crack there unless the flange was bent (which it appears because of how far the nut is not screwed on).
It could also just be a bad casting job; possibly some sort of impurity or inclusion right there...
