Blkturbos2k, how long have you had you S? How long has it been turbocharged? How much of the work have you done yourself? People like cjb and I were the ones who pioneered forced induction for the S2000. On our experience the communities knowledge has expanded to where it is today. Talk about hating... Jesus man, do you work for inline Pro? Then why take it so personal? What's my setup?

Full race built engine including:
sleeved block
knife edged / balanced crank
pauter rods
je pistons (9.5:1)
ARP head and main studs
ferrea valves, springs and retainers
welded exhaust manifold
Turbonetics T60-1 hifi turbo
custom 3" exhaust with apexi N1 muffler
Spearco 3 core intercooler
tial wastegate and bov

It does not matter how long I have had a s2k. Its been about 2 years. What does matter is that you are putting out the WRONG info to your s2k communities. Have you ran at the track? What does your dyno look like? I am not trying to be a dick but just because you had one of the first turboed s2k does not mean that it is fast as hell. Most people that I meet that have a turbo or s/c have not been to the track or some have never been on the dyno. You have a nice parts list but do you use it?

I don't recall where he ever said that. He was merely pointing out his observations...which you seem to have taken personally.

Man, you guys are quick to bicker. Just b/c something is "fast as hell" doesn't mean a whole lot in my book. Unless it's fast as hell for the purposes you're building it -- track, street, show -- AND it lasts beyond the time it takes you to pay the invoices for all the stuff you've thrown at it, it's not much more than a bunch of expensive and highly depreciated parts, IMO. Also, have some respect for the MANY reasons guys trick out their cars. While I don't care a bit about the street cred, some folks do, and you ought to respect it, even if you're into something else.

For what it's worth, I track my (turbocharged) S a LOT and after three years of sorting ouf the car, it's still not completely finished. I've gone through several fuel tuning approaches, am on my second turbo center cartridge, have upgraded virtually everything that came with my turbo kit (originally sourced from Speedcraft in the spring of 2002 -- their third kit, I think, but perhaps their fourth), have thrown a lot of aftermarket stuff at it and still believe that high EGT is an issue for any turbocharged car that's tracked, as is the capability of the EMS to truly manage knock.

Were I to do it over again, for a track car, I'd definitely go the supercharger route. It's just a whole lot easier, cheaper, sorted out of the box, and it's easier to go back to stock when you sell the car and buy something else. That said, I'm happy with my setup when I'm not worried about it or having to replace something else....

My two cents. Your mileage may vary. I'm sure your opinions will.

Best,
CB
