Its not a question of can it do it, more of how long and when will it explode

I've said it before, and this result backs it up: I have a theory the diff failures we've seen in some cars has been the result of a bad batch of diffs.
I've seen a bad ring and pinion that had too thick a hardened layer and no edge chamfering. I expect it is a lucky dip in early model S2000s as to whether you got a diff that died in minor NA use, only died in agressive NA or basic FI, or manages to survive 10 second launches like this one.
That said, I doubt anyone (including the owners) will be surprised when things break whilst trying to better this time. It's the nature of the game after all.

i heard the diff broke on the 2nd pass
btw...yes, that diff gave out on the second pass...they will be swapping it out and cranking up the boost. I can't wait to see what they can do on a stock block..cheers
there are rumors someone else did a 10 second pass in Florida and it seems like its more than a rumor...hmmmm...

I will give props where props is due .
car = none , been there done that , TQ is down for the HP at hand and yes I have seen this power on a stock bottom before on pump gas to boot.
Driver = BIG props
finally someone that understands how to drive a high revving car down the 1320 . Everyone complaining about diffs and transmissions are launching to hard . This is not a funny car . And if you have run high power FWD down the track before will understand . Spinning tire does not get you down the track . It like drifting a auto-x its not the fastest way around the track .
So again I congratulate the driver for a excellent job .
Remember this ,anyone can own a fast car but not everyone can drive them . ( I think I will add that to my quotes
)
JDMKID have you ever run yours at the track ? If so I would be interested in seeing the slip and comparing it . All the info on the slip will tell you what needs to be done to go faster . You have plenty of power you just need to be able to control it . ( FYI 140mph trap speeds are good for 9's
)

I think what amazes me the most about this is the fact that they supposedly ran 245's. I would have never thought that would be enough tire to get this car down the 1/4 in the tens. Granted they were drag radials but still, Inline Pro must have one hell of a driver.
