Yeah 500-650 for a tune is normal. 1000 seems way high

1000 for both or 1000 each? 1000 for kit install and tune seems reasonable depending on the shops labor rate.

Keep in mind (since you asked about FlexFuel in another thread) that tuning for FlexFuel requires essentially two tunes - gasoline and ethanol. If you are being quoted to tune for FlexFuel, you're being quoted for two tunes - and $1,000 is not unreasonable.

Na they quoted me $1000 for a tune (I didnt even mention on E85) and another 1k for the install of most turbo kits. I sure thought that was pretty high. I dont have many close options for tuners but I am willing to drive a pretty good distance for an experienced one.

4-500 for a tune is typical and install is 500+, so thats is about right.

Why not install the kit yourself though?

Also, flex will be double or close since it does take 2 tunes.
