Default Installing 3mm Head Gasket

I have EMS 1052U

Installing my headgasket starting tonight. I drove the car around on the basemap and everything ran fine, except every gauge on the laptop worked besides the RPM and the coolant temp. Again it's not reading the temp on the laptop, i know it's not supposed to read it on the gauge cluster anymore.

What I am getting at is do you guys think it's alright for me to fire it up after i fill the motor with coolant even tho i can't read the coolant temp? I mean if anything was wrong in the first place after i installed the head gasket it would probably just blow before i could even read how high the coolant temp got in the first place.

without that ground my fuel pump wouldn't even prime, the AEM wasn't getting any power. although my motor was out and none of the engine block to chassis grounds were there either.

basically, check and double check all grounds, they can cause the weirdest issues!

I guess if i can't get this coolant meter working i'm gonna install the head gasket and just not be able to monitor the coolant temp when i fire it back up, i guess it's not that big of a deal..

Actually its a huge deal to be able to watch the coolant temps after your new HG install. This way you can watch the temps while you bleed the system and it will tell you if you have it bled correctly and gotten all possible air bubbles out of the system. If you cant watch the coolant temps after the HG install and you miss getting all the air out of the system, you will overheat the engine and warp the head and possibly the block and also blow the HG.
