I have a MY04 with a stock Vortech SC with auxillary injector. I'm planning to ditch the stock ECU, Split Second piggy back module, and stock injectors (plus auxillary injector) in favor of an AEM EMS 1052U and four RC 650cc injectors. I've read that many have suggested removing the FMU when going this route, so that is one of the first items on my list. What other considerations should keep in mind when doing this?
I'd like to be able to swap the stock injectors, ECU, and piggy back module in every few years for smog certification purposes. I know that's going to be a PITA unless somebody here can hook me up with a station in SoCal that's friendly toward a SC and EMS. I'm planning to install some quick disconnects on the injector harness since the RCs are different than stock. Are there any suggestion for managing the wiring for the piggy back module other than clearly marking everything?
Here's the baseline dyno plot that I ran last week at Shawn Church's place:
I'm pretty happy with the numbers, but I'm hoping for some decent gains with the EMS, injectors, and tuning. Thanks in advance for any tips or suggestions with this project.
