What about a bypass valve that opens at a specified boost level?
aka a wastegate JK

i had thought about this idea when i had a vortech on my b16 si but never had the balls to go for it. i had thought about a smaller pulley to bring more boost on lower rpms but use a wastegate to keep boost under the actual pulley psi rating
...... idk about the idea of controlling boost by rpm but im sure you could have something electronically controlled thatd be pretty simple. kinda like a shift lift on and off signal which could have a solenoid open the WG from a set rpom and above.

i dont understand why there isnt a slipping/locking clutch pulley out et?

ya know, a one sized diameter pulley, but inside, a series of 2-3 different diameter slipping clutches that will engage/disengage for different boost levels. use one belt and pulley for like 4 different boost levels and have it all self mechanically controlled.

like a clutch-type LSD for your boost levels. lol

seems like a wastegate and boost controller for tunability would be easiest

in other words could i bolt a wastegate to my greddy bov flange

its easier than you think, put a smaller pulley and dont overtighten the belt. It will slip most probably after 7500rpm keeping your boost levels and supercharger safe. That way you wont have to spin you SC more than you need...

This all sounds like a great idea, but there is one BIG problem with this. Timing. Running that much boost at low rpm on an s2000 requires substantial timing retarding which you cannot provide with the stock Comptech system. Running meth injection is an alternative, but with my experience trying to get the timing of this system to inject that early in the rpms when you would need it is unreliable at best. 9psi is the max I have found you can run with the stock comptech system without detonation to the motor with the stock timing map. Whether you bleed boost up top is irrelevant. To sum things up, you will destroy your motor from detonation if you run it this way and the added IAT will help solidify this without an upgraded heat exchanger or fmic.
