Default Invidia QS300

Anybody using a Invidia QS 300 exhaust system with forced induction? I'm thinking it's the biggest bore exhaust that I can run naturally aspirated for now, and will be good for forced induction later. Reason being is that the main pipe is 70mm (nearly 3 inch) and then splits into 2 x 2.5inch. Thoughts?

Assuming you mean the Invidia Q300 which is unbearably loud and lasted about a month on my car -- and only 'cuz it took that long to get a replacement shipped to me. I was able to sell it as it was barely used but lost money on the deal.

Seriously you need hearing protection if you run this exhaust and your neighbors will hate you. There are exhausts suitable for adults available and once you go forced induction there's plenty of power -- an excess of power -- regardless of the exhaust.

(Sorry but "Q300" just triggers knee jerk response from me it's such a horrible exhaust!)

LOL! Someone has been upset. I don't mind it being loud as it won't be my daily car. I'm more interested in whether it will have good flow for forced induction which by bore sizes alone i think would be suitable. Should have said, yes the Q300 not sure where the S came from lol!

When you say "lasted a month" what do you mean?

Yeah the Q300 left an emotional scar! The OEM exhaust was boringly quiet and I bought the Q300 based on comments (here) that was "not much louder than stock," etc. The guys at the local high school loved it! Was ear bleed loud. Wasn't able to hear it on another car before ordering it -- I recommend everyone do this before buying any aftermarket exhaust.

I'd have to look thru my old posts but it could have been in the area of of 120 dbA loud (chain saw loud). After a week I couldn't wait to get it off the car but it took a month before I was able to get an adult exhaust shipped from another vendor.

I've now had the Tanabe Medalion Touring dual exhaust on the car nearly 10 years. Described by others as a Gentleman's Performance exhaust and I agree. There have been changes to this exhaust (and it's a different brand name now) so do not take my word for how it sounds and hear it on another car -- or roll the dice.

PS: I'm running a high flow cat for improved exhaust flow.

I agree with Chuck on this, i had one on my car for about a month and couldn't stand it. the drone was soo bad. I am also supercharged. I have a comptech exhaust which i love but they are very hard to find now a days

Q300 is a cool exhaust and with it's main pipe being 70mm it's suitable for boost. It does taper down to 63mm at the split though. Best is to go single exit @ 70 or 75mm all the way through for ultimate results and more weight savings (J's Racing single exit FX70RS/RR is perfect for this). If you have to stay dual then yeah, Q300 will be just fine. A matching Invidia test pipe is a must as the stock cat will create a lot of drone with this exhaust, muffle the crisp highs and rob power. If you have to run a cat then at least a high flow cat will be a better option than the stock one.
