Default IP 3mm HG timing marks (With Pics)

I pulled my head to have it built and it had been for a while before it went back on and so I forgot exactly how the marks looked. Could someone confirm that my marks look correct? I believe its right but would like it to be confirmed. Tom at IP said it looked correct when I sent him the pics but need someone else that knows to also confirm it before I fire it up. I can rotate everything and nothing binds at all.

BTW, I did not clock the cam gear so it may be off just a bit from someone that did clock them. I have been running it without clocking them before with no problems so I am leaving them unclocked. I just need to make sure its back to where it needs to be and how it was before removing the head as the AEM is set up for the timing corrections. When I sit and look at it and imagine the head being lowered back down without the 3mm HG in there and imagine the cam gear moving back to the factory alignment in the correct directions as the chain pulls while it would go back down 3mm, I can see where it would be correct. Hopefully that made sense. LOL

Not yet. Just the head is all I did for now. Its all back together and everything, I just havent fired it up yet. The stock bottom end looks great so I'll just push it to 700 whp or so and see how long it lasts. If something gives, then I'll build it.

The intake gear looks a little down. If you move it over one tooth is it way off? If it is then that looks like it's the closest it's going to get.

Well, just imagine moving the intake gear up one tooth in the pic and you will see that it will be a lot farther off than it is now but on the upper side of the exhaust gear mark. Basically just look at the next groove and thats where the mark would be. Doesnt it look like itll be farther off if its there than it is now?

Its hard to tell from the second pic but it looks fine to me. If it looks close, most likely moving it over one tooth will throw it off even more.

As far as clocking the cam gear, of the 10 or so 3mm's that i have installed this past year, 3 weren't clocked and the cars have been fine.

For comparison (click to enlarge)- unclocked, the intake will be slightly off

I'm convinced your intake is off one tooth, but it's your car... The cam marks should line up, the idler should be slightly higher than flush on the left side...

The Idler is slightly higher on the left side but the whiteout I put on them is off just a bit. Its up on the left side about 3mm.

Minitoyota, your intake gear looks like the mark is higher than the exhaust gear. Mine is the opposite. Maybe Turbokev is right. I wonder if my exhaust gear needs to come down one tooth or the intake gear up one tooth. But if you look at how much movement will occur with moving either of the gears in any direction, the alignment I believe would be off even further than it is now. How does you crank pulley position look when its this way? When I move my crank pulley position to the red mark, it looks more like yours.

Thanks for the help.
