What temps are the manifold reaching from normal driving and harder driving?
I've seen EGTs as high as 1400F

And thats at the manifold right after the engine? Any special occasion to see this or is it on a regular basis being heavy on the right foot?

1400F is like 760 degrees C.

My EGT bung is about ~4 inches after the turbine so not exactly in the manifold.

I run much hotter when driving lightly (as the A/F is lean for gas mileage). Once I get on it (and she richens up to about 12) it will drop to 1200s or so. It really just depends on the situtation.

@Spec_ops Oh good point there.
What mileage do you get by driving lightly? (sorry for OT)

@Keith Do you know how hot your manifold gets?

No idea, never really checked. Been more focused on coolant temps

I think I might have logged the highest MPG of any FI s2k ever not to long ago

I got a hair over 31 MPG on medium traffic highway driving. For anyone who lives in the metro NYC area, medium traffic means speeds alternating from 5mph all the way to 65mph...not exactly the best for fuel efficency.

I believe if I had the chance for ONLY highway driving (65+) I could log 32+ easily.

Its ALL in the tune

Before I installed my Greddy, I had the tank almost bone dry, as I wanted to fill up right after the install to make sure my sender was A-OK.

After I filled up (post install) I got 290 miles on 10.1 gallons.......this was all including all my friends "test" driving the car. These were some pretty hard miles, as I did boost all the time, car was running 10.5AFR at boost, and mostly city driving. If I drove normally, I could have easily hit 34mpg, and after I get tuned, I see no reason why I can't go back to my stock mileage, which was near 35-37 (highway only).

On my trips to AC from NY, with cruise set to 75, I hit 34-37 EVERY time. My trip down to Virginia, cruise set at 80, I hit 398 miles on 10.2 gallons of gas.

true, I should have specifie; highly modified FI (aka headgasket, AEM EMS, huge injectors, etc)

I bet greddy kits (as you've proven) can get over 32 on all highway pretty easily
