S2000 Forced Induction S2000 Turbocharging and S2000 supercharging, for that extra kick.

I've tried everything

you seem quite sure its a TCT. the tct is operated by oil pressure.

what if whatever is feeding oil to the tct is clogged, or damaged.

this would cause any tct to tick, new or old.

When you changed out your TCT did the problem go away for a little while and then come back?

I've always had a slight amount of ticking as well.... I've done the TCT2 times.... now I've got some bigger issues.

I hope its not related to oil pressure some how, that puts the whole engine at risk.

To rule some things out, if you change your oil does it get better for a short while?

i'd be willing to be something is impeding the flow to the tct. theres no reason they should be bad when you put it in... it barely possible to mess that step up.

sigh.. yeah i want to say it's the oil pressure. After we swapped the TCT, the noise got less.. but was still there, it NEVER went away.

I got a set of Defi gauges hooked up and oil pressure is one of them, so that makes me believe it is not an issue. What kid of Oil pressures are you guys getting?

What should i check?

The effed up part about this whole thing is, when we first installed everything, the car idled great! No problems, we checked for leaks and waited for the tuner to come tune it. A week later, the day he came in to tune it, bam, the noise.. some luck. it's been like this ever sine (8 months later)

^ mine went a way for 2 weeks and slowly came back after that.

Oil at idle was fairly high on this car, I can't recall a good number, if you say it it'll ring a bell though.

About 25 psi at warm idle, 75 to 80 under load, a bit more WOT.

I had the problem and went through two tensioners the last one only going for one month and less than 1K miles before it started making noise...

I then switched my oil from mobil 1 to Redline, and sand blasted the worm gear in my original tensioner and re installed it. In 4K miles the car is still perfectly silent.

well i switched tensioners.. and it wasn't working propely still. I could try redline oil.. but i doubt that would make all the difference. any theories behind why that would work instead of regular 10w 30 synthetic oil?
