J's 60rs with SC?/raise C/R low boost?
I've read through a few topics in this forum, I'm sure there is one on exhausts that perform best with FI. I've only had my S for a few months, I have plans for the future, and want to supercharge, I've chosen Comptech. I've also picked out the exhaust. J's Racing 60rs single ti. Will that work well with the S/C? And also I'm curious as to what if I were to raise the compression ratio say... with Toda ultra high comp pistons, gasket, etc. up to 13:1 if that'd be possible, and just keep low boost at like 5 or 6 lbs. I'm just curious, I'm aware it'd be more costly, compared to just more boost, which probably makes it a pointless idea. I'm just curious. Would it be efficient? How'd it perform compared to just more boost with stock internals, or a lot more boost, with low comp. forged internals? as far as durability, power gains to costs, etc. just tell me what ya'll know
the j's 60 rs should be fine- i had one and got rid of it for the asura 3" dual and i only gained about 2-3 whp so it wasn't that big of a deal. that was at 9 psi but i don't know about more boost. i don't know so much about the 13:1 comp ratio- seems a little high but if you can do it go for it. i am a fan of the high compression low boost mindframe. good luck
did you actually tune for the 3" or you just did a dyno with the same map?! seems strange that you only saw 2-3hp difference, I would imagine that it is more in the region of 10 to 15...
Having said that, I had the 60RS Ti and sounds amazing with boost!!! Even if its 10hp that you are loosing I would definetly keep the 60RS...

I'm running the J's 60rs on an SoS kit at 11 psi. Runs great, sounds awesome, love the light weight. Downside is that many of them eventually start to rattle.
Can't say what the power differences would be versus a larger exhaust, would also like to know.

I would not take the money time or energy to swap out to a higher compression motor. Just put on the SC and what ever pully you want to run and enjoy. The exhaust is not going to make much of a difference with a SC at standard boost levels, just get a bigger system, one you enjoy or keep the stock unit. Spend the money on other things maybe a header, gauges, tuning, gas, tires, rims, whatever.
any of you know the performance difference between the 60rs dual and single? aside from weight, which is probably what makes the difference, but also what are the sound level differences? and with a SC?
