Default Justify this purchase for me

I'm getting (re)tuned in the next 2-3 weeks because I'm running pig rich. 160 miles per tank is just not exciting any more, and I'm down a good 30whp on the butt dyno.

I was driving around today and thinking about how nice the 3.2" (12 psi) pulley would be. I'm assuming I'd put down 360-390whp.

List of motor related things:

9psi pulley
Laskey head ("stage 3" if that's important)
Header to remain unnamed here
Full 3" exhaust
650cc injectors
Emanage Ultimate
Upgraded banjo bolts

The bottom end and the rest of the drivetrain (besides clutch) has 111k miles on it. I think things don't break for me because I don't launch the car or do other harmful things. It does see VTEC quite a few times per drive though.

Can I get some on upping the boost when I go to the dyno, and some reassurance that things magically blowing up.

I know there's quite a few people running 450+whp on stock compression, etc.., but I'm realistically expecting to keep this car going strong for quite a while. It's not over my mechanical knowledge to change the headgasket (in fact, when I put the new head on I did just that), but I don't want to deal with the power loss in the lower RPM due to lowered compression.

So again, should I?

I'm running the 3.4 pulley and getting the 3.2 installed as we speak. I am currently running 410rwhp with a thicker head gasket. I have several other mods, to many to list, and the car runs great. Most important thing is to have a great tuner, which I am fortunate to have.

even with 12psi you will end up wanting more...............

your engine with 111k miles is not a virgin
i suggest to retune it and enjoy it as it is
it would be a nice upgrade also to sell your e manage and buy AEM.
blue and ultimate is good for n/a or low boost applications.

if i didnt move you...........
why go for 12 and not 14psi

also do not use h/g to lower comp.

IMO

I would love to get the AEM, but I have to pass emissions inspections to register my vehicle here Maybe when I find a way around that.

I think I'll go ahead and order the 3.2" pulley and hope for the best. 400whp is something I would love to see

Sorry to make a thread about it, but I'm on edge.

Dude do it and post results. I want a 3.2" pullet too. It would be a great help to see what you are putting down afterwards. God knows i almost regret not going turbo for the torque. But the linear power is so worth it.

I feel like I have plenty of torque with 300whp. I had someone drive me around in my own car and I was holding on pretty tight. Driving and riding in it are completely seperate experiences, IMO.

I tightened my tensioner bracket and belt today, added some washers, and I feel like I picked up another 30whp...I need to weld in a stopper piece or something to prevent the belt from loosening past a certain point. My mount is years old and has very much wear on it.

I got the pulley and belt for $108 shipped thanks to SOS giving a $20 discount!

Once it comes I'll schedule an appointment to get tuned with Suja One here in Chicago and will post videos and results.
