Default kpro install and oil return

Well since I have decided to go turbo, I have been buying my parts little by little. With the kpro in I figured I could install it now to setup and do some basic tuning and then put my turbo setup in the winter when the car is off the road.

Kpro install First off you cannot switch the crank triger wheel by simply taking off the crank pulley, Time chain cover is a must to take off, Second Honda manual doesn't tell you that the cam sensor plate bolt is reverse tread, third you were better off taking the oil pan off because its only going to make it easier to put the chain cover back on anyways

Since all this crap is apart might as well put in the oil return and oil jet bolts. Oil jet bolts easy job, Oil return on the girdle, My only recomendation is either you can stomach the posibility of fing up your block or you cant, if you hesitate dont bother doing it on the girdle. Once I started drilling it was gun ho. Also make sure you drill in a spot the is comletely clear on the inside

Almost done all i need to do now is adjust my valves and put everything back together

also its a good 8-10 hour job when you do it on jack stands

Could have welded a bung on the timing cover for the oil return. Super easy and no drilling on the block.

I have been installing kpros, and S300's for years (Had my own shop for 4 years before closing it down due to problems with city and partner) although its my first kpro in an s2000, nothing beats its factory like tuning. So I'm not getting into what system is better because i am brand loyal and biased, lol

I pieced the kit together it a sidewinder style manifold, with 45mm tial wastegate, garret t4 60-1 turbo, 1000cc injector dynamics, aeromotive regualtor, and the new aermotive intank fuel pump.

Debated doing the timing cover, decided not to (mainly because I didn't have anyone that welds aluminum around anymore and It was going to hold me up

Only Looking to make between 450-550 horse this setup should give it to me easily and with a low power band, Not looking to make a full drag car or dyno queen been there done that

Were you able to change the cam wheel with the cam in the engine?

Just wondering.

Kpro is a PITA to install. There isn't any specific part thats ridiculously hard. Just a lot of small steps that are labor intensive. OP you should've looked up the modified magazine install article. Wasn't a bad resource to help along the way and provide a few pictures. Then you would've known about the reverse threading in advance.

DFWJ - I was able to swap the cam wheel without removing the cam. It did take 2 sets of hands though. Allen wrench with jack handle extension and the other person holds the cam still. Then you can work together to break it free.

I took the cam out because i was having a hard time with it not knowing it was reverse thread, however its really not that hard to take out the cam, and it gives you a reason to adjust the valve clearenses. I would of just done it to begin with.
