Default kraftweks vs. jackson racing vs. comptech

Just sold my jackson supercharged rsx. Now I'm buying an s2000 shortly. I love the super charger (for auto-x). Here's the question. Is the kraftwerks, and comptech comparable to jackson as far as "instant" power goes? That's what I am looking for, linear bottom end power (power everywhere really). They're belt driven so I'd expect so, but I'm just unsure (I kinda thought kraftwerks worked a little differently) Thanks for anyone who has driven both types, and has some input.

You are talking about roots superchargers. The older (not sure about new) Jackson Racing stuff utilized the roots blowers. The superchargers that KW/Comptech/Vortech/SOS sell are centrifigual, i.e. boost increases by rpm.

Stage One Tuning (SOT) is the only company to have a mass market roots kit available.

Kraftwerks(jackson racing), comptech, vortech uses centrifugal superchargers, so it wont have the instant power like your supercharged rsx(assuming it uses the roots blower). You'll want the SOT kit if u want that kind of power. Do a search.

Yes I had roots, and I know these are centrifugal, that's why I am asking. So the centrifugals aren't instant? If that's the case I guess I'm back in the roots market once again! I'll look up sot, thanks.

It won't be instant like the roots. You want a turbo setup with a relatively small turbo (GT30 or less) or the SOT roots kit.

i'm pretty sure they're instant if you're talking about a throttle response lag like turbo spool-up. but the boost is linear on a centrifugal, so at 4k rpm you only have half the boost you get at 8k. with roots you get it all early on, so you have a lot more power in the mid-range.

but the centrifugals don't have a throttle response lag like turbo if that's what you mean. they just don't have torque like a roots or turbo car with comparable numbers.
True.

I'll revise my statement: Centrifugal systems will have instant response *for* the max level of boost attainable at that RPM.

If you are looking for max boost early on and instant throttle response, then you want the roots.

If you are willing to sacrifice some throttle response, but possibly gain more flexibility, than you could do a turbo setup.

The rotrex is not like a centrifugal. It is like instant power. very nice IMO.
Jacks car made power everywhere, and when you hit it you have instant power. who drives there s2k around at 2k rpm anyways? nobody that i know. Its unhappy there. so your in town at 3500-4k, snap the throttle and your GONE. with the KW kit.

this is EternalLx's K&W tuned @ 12 psi i don't think it's much different compare to the SOS ,comptech or Vortech's kit.

and this is my Vortech v3 tuned @ 8psi same tuner same dyno aswell as the weather
