In the instructions it's recommended to do so. With the 30mm upgrade I took out the bolt and nearly smoothed down the that entire area.

I had to grind a bunch off of the steering rack to get it to fit. Whenever I change the belt, its a very tight squeeze to get it around the crank pulley.

Sounds like the "fix" might be something LHT is doing that is not in the instructions. I have not heard of anyone that had them install it having these issues. if you have please chime in.
