Kraftwerks & SOS Stage 1 Supercharger Question
Hey guys learning about Superchargers for a summer/early fall purchase. My question is between the Kraftwerks Supercharger and the SOS Stage 1 Supercharger. My goal is to be around 350 whp for around town driving so the SOS stage 1 is looking better to me at this point but was looking on the Kraftwerks site the other day and they claim 400 whp and the kit is $500 cheaper. How is this kit producing 50 - 60 more whp than the SOS stage 1 kit? Are their specific peices? Injectors, bigger blower? Thanks look forward to learning.

Even though KW has some minor issues (IMHO) I'm a fan of the Rotrex blowers. They make more midrange power than the Paxton units. Don't get too caught up in peak numbers.
Like the post above look at some dynos here for comparison. All on the same dyno... Note where even my old KW kit with a C30-94 at 10psi made more than the SOS 1200 at 13psi up to 7000rpm. This is very noticeable in driving.

The real comparison should be between a SOS Stage 2 and the new KW. I doubt you will hit 350 with a SOS Stage 1 unless you have a factory beast motor and lots of supporting mods. There will be a bigger price difference. The SOS has more power potential for future upgrades whereas the KW seems like its maxed out from the box. The KW seems to make a bit more power but there are QC issues going on since day 1 which they have been unable to reign in (or care about) so that should be a major concern for potential buyers.
So what it boils down to is how reliable and worry free do you want this kit to be and how long do you plan to keep the car? For me I chose SOS because I believed it to be superior than anything else on the market but this was before the new KW came out. I want to keep my car until it stops running and there's 100s of positive reviews on the SOS kit so I chose longeviry and reliability over all else but paid extra for it. I think judging by what's out there, I would still choose my kit over anything else if I were looking to buy today. I have over 30k on my kit with no issues.
Another thread you may want to look at or follow is this, just to know what's going on out there and how this seems to be an issue that several members who post here have experienced:

Forgot to mention, every car is different. I dyno at around the same numbers as the new KW kit at 13 to 14 psi but do it at only 8.3 psi of boost using only a 4.0 pulley. Plenty of room to upgrade but less wear and pressure on the engine right now. As always, dyno results will vary. But my SOS experience has been nothing short of amazing from customer service to product satisfaction.
Ok awesome reliability is extremely important to me I do not want any surprise fixes. With that being said I do not want to be stuck with 330 - 350 whp but only have about 6k to spend max now so with that in mind it seems like SOS stage 1 right now with my budget? If I go this route and want to upgrade to 400 whp how much more money do you think I would have to invest after the SOS stage 1 kit? Thanks guys!

Well you are going to need an upgraded clutch for one. If I were you I would get that done first before supercharger install. Just get an ACT pressure plate with oem friction disc. If you have ap2 then ap1 flywheel or a new lightweight flywheel from a vendor.
You are going to need injectors, EM and a tune. You will also need a slush fund for other miscellaneous parts that may break, or other hiccups along the way because trust me it happens. $2-3 grand minimum to upgrade.

Save up more money and go with SOS stage 2 with a 1200 blower and a properly sized pulley. I've had my SOS for over 6 years and have no regrets. I started with a 1220sl and 3.8 pulley and got bored with the power.
